This package is 8 complete exam papers with an easy to use mark scheme, which break down how marks are allocated, allowing peer marking to save you on time. They are laid out to look like a proper BTEC exam, in the hopes students take them seriously and are a very useful revision tool. Each one tests particular sections of the BTEC spec and can either be used after the spec topic has been delivered or as mock exams nearer the end of the unit deliver. The spec areas the exams cover are B1 homeostasis, B2 cardiovascular, B3 respiratory, B4 skeletal and B10 renal system, the nervous and muscular system, the digestive system spec and the B8.B9 Endocrine and Immune system. They are Microsoft Word documents so sections from an exam could then be mixed to create mock exams covering all the parts of the spec. A 51 page booklet with information covering the BTEC Level 3 Health & Social Care Unit 26 Health Psychology Learning Aim C1. C2. D1 and D2 in preparation for students assignment 2. There is information relating to each part in the spec and seven Powerpoints with areas for activities and notes. After your students have sat the past paper as a mock, the Jan 2018 paper, this is an activity that takes them, step by step through analysising each question and the possible answers. Additional activities will get them thinking about how the knowledge could be applied to other question/answers and anticipating possible questions they may be asked in the real exam and plan how they would be best answered. It incorporates sections from the Pearson’s exam report and analysis for this particular exam paper too. A teachers copy will allow you to project practice exam questions on the board to check their own answers Again, when they have sat the June 2019 paper, this resource can be used in conjunction with their marked papers to encourage them to walk through it, step by step to analyse their own answers and it incorporates the exam board feedback so students get a broad picture. There are 58 colourful and engaging question cards covering all aspects of the BTEC Level 3 Unit 1 Human Lifespan Development spec. The questions are coloured so students know which way up they should go and on the reverse side, is the answers, in black text. This can be an individual activity for a students or pairs and does not require any marking on your part! The cards will needed printing double sided and cutting out. I used paper and laminated them so I can use them lots of times without wear and tear. I suggest students write their answers before turning over the reverse side to check it. In pairs, if one student does not know the answer or gets it wrong, hopefully the paired partner can give explain it as a peer and give advice on how they can remember it. The cards move from easier answers to harder one’s so there is an element of differentiation. They can also be given to a group of more able students to work on independently whilst you spend time with a student who has missed teaching content or is less able as this activity generates no noise! This also helps students identify content they then need to revise. I stress to my students that this is just testing their ability to recall content, however, a big part of doing well in an exam, is practice writing out exam answers, taking note of the command word and marks allocated… and they must include a conclusion in questions worth 8-10 marks.
